ALDEN PHISICES STUDY
The things that I studied are sound waves,nichrome wire and when I went to the ECHO museum I saw contraptions that used magnets.
FOCUS QUESTION: WHY DOES NICHROME WIRE GLOW? Nichrome wire glows when electrons have difficulty flowing through a conductor. Nichrome wire is used in heating elements and stuff like toasters or light bulbs because of it's high Resistance to heat so it won't burn out as quickly.
ECHO CONTRAPTION When I went to the ECHO museum I saw the contraptions part of the museum I saw this really cool contraption there were little bugs and mice one bug had a piece of cheese and was running away from a mouse that was chasseing the bug with the cheese. I think that the way the contraption worked was there were magnets in the mice and bugs and magnets inside the contraption and the magnets inside the contraption would move making the mice and bugs move. I think that contraption was cool because the mice were chasseing the bug that had a piece of cheese.
Scouts in Engineering TASC competition. On Saturday I went to Scouts and Engineering at UVM. They had an engineering competition with exhibits going on. I chose to write about this contraption because it was my favorite. A fan would blow wind at the other fan which would make the other fans blades move and that made a belt go around in a circle that would generate electricity. The electricity’s power was for a remote control. Then a person could control the catapult making it move up and down and it would launch fake apples into a bucket.
Scout’s and Engineering the class I toke for scouts and engineering was engineering. We talked about what engineer’s do, what different engineer’s there are, How to become an engineer, What engineers can do for jobs, What engineers do for society, What a professional engineer is, How engineers are involved in making everyday items and at the end of the class we made a car out of wire, a box, can’s and we used a hand held fan to make the car go. Engineers design fix and make things. There are mechanical engineers, biomedical engineers, nuclear engineers, electrical engineers, chemical engineers, petroleum engineers and more. You have to take four years of engineering college. A professional is someone who is the best at what he does and he knows what he is doing.

The sound waves move through the air and makes the flame move and go out.
